Christmas at The Moore Home- Fort Bend Museum
When I was in college, I worked on campus at the library. I didn’t have a lot of money, so on the weekends, I would check out old movies and binge watch them in my dorm.
My favorites were of course Gone with the Wind, Rear Window, It Happened One Night…. and the list goes on and on. I just love how they transport you back in time. I have always loved history (I swear I was born in the wrong era), especially all the old architecture and buildings. Texas has it’s share of beautiful historical buildings and one of them is The Moore Home.
This year, I wanted to take our Christmas pictures there. The Moore home is a part of the Fort Bend Museum and was built by John M. Moore in 1883. You can read all about the history here.
This place is so spectacular and dreamy and it reminded me of the books and movies that kept me company so many years ago. It was truly an honor to walk the steps of the home with my family and revel in the rich history of this beautiful place.
The grounds are available to use for a small fee and it was well worth it. It also helped that the weather was absolutely beautiful!
I’m thinking I may have to pop in one of these movies for old times sake. Maybe the girls will like “It’s a Wonderful Life?” I can only hope.
