October

October just flew by way too fast. There were so many activities going on, we could hardly keep up. Before having kids, Peter and I would enjoy fall days driving around looking for things to do. These days, things are looking quite different. Every weekend, there is some sort of activity planned, because the last thing I want to hear is the dreaded, “I’m bored,” phrase from my 3 year old. It is most definitely true that we have to tire her out to get her to sleep at night! From the Houston Zoo Boo to our Church Fall Festival to everyday Halloween attire, we had a busy October. It looks like November is already filling up fast. Is it really almost the end of the year?!

Halloween Bash

When my sisters and I were younger, my mom would throw us themed parties that were amazing. I have cherished the memories since then and simply couldn’t wait for an excuse to throw a party for my girls. I love to see their faces when they see the decorations. Before any party, I try to prepare the week before by doing small stuff so I don’t get overwhelmed. For our Halloween Bash, I made the balloon garland 3 days in advance and it held up pretty well. We used an air compressor to blow up about 75 balloons and a needle and thread to attach them all together. The total cost for this was $6! The backdrop on the wall is from Oriental Trading and is recycled from last years party, I signed up to receive their catalog and every year they send me a $20 gift card for free.

I love to shop post Halloween sales and almost never buy anything before a holiday unless I know it won’t be there after. The bat balloon is an example of that. It was a $5 splurge from Target that I had to have! I mostly use things that I already have to decorate and that allows me to put more funds toward food for the party. I have already scoured Target for post Halloween deals and I am so excited for next year.
